Pet Diabetes Month (November)

Pet Diabetes Month (November) is a nationwide campaign to raise awareness and test the UK's cats and dogs for diabetes.

Diabetes is increasingly common in dogs and cats over 6 years of age, overweight pets and certain breeds. Luckily, diabetes can usually be easily diagnosed using a simple urine test.
Some pets are at higher risk than others – use this quick online assessment to see if your pet is at risk of diabetes.

Going on holiday?

Summary of requirements sourced from DARD

When travelling to or returning to the UK from another EU or non-EU listed country, your pet needs:

• Microchip
• Rabies vaccination (make sure your pet is microchipped first or the vaccination won't count)
• Pet passport or official third country veterinary certificate tapeworm treatment (for dogs only)

You must wait 21 days from the date of the rabies vaccination before travelling. Click here for more information.
